Olivet Institute of Technology (OIT) opened September with new courses in the College’s advanced degree curriculum.

The mission of the OIT program is to train students to become experienced and research-oriented technology professionals for church and ministry service.

"The integrated program curriculum provides students with an understanding of information technology from operational, as well as strategic perspectives", said Program Director William Wong in an interview. “Our graduates are being prepared to participate in the expanding world of technology research and services at the places where it making new intersections with other fields,” Wong explained.

This year’s program is being spotlighted for its application of industry techniques, especially in the areas of software engineering, network and distributed computing, and web engineering. Especially popular among the current course offerings is “Software Engineering Processes” comprised of a mixture of traditional software engineering theory and refactoring methods to support more dynamic lifecycles.

“We are blessed to be able to start this year’s program, and for all of the hard work from our Dean, faculty members and administrators,” Wong said.
