OIT Seminar Features OCLC, NetLibrary

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- On March 14, faculty and students from Olivet Institute of Technology (OIT) welcomed guests from Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) to participate in its weekly e-Library research seminar.

OCLC is a not for profit computer service and research organization founded in 1967whose systems help libraries locate, acquire, catalog, and lend library materials. More than 60,000 libraries in 112 countries and territories around the world use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials.

The visit featured an in-depth discussions on various e-library content development strategies, and a special presentation on Net-Library.

NetLibrary, is a division of OCLC, is the fast growing eContent provider for academic, community college, public and many other libraries.

The OIT research program offers weekly seminar program to promote student and faculty research and dialogue on the subject of technology development.
