OIT Students Utilize Latest Research in Wireless Technology

  • March 26, 2009

Students in Olivet Institute of Technology (OIT) have recently added the latest research in Wireless Sensor Networking (WSN) into course projects.  WSN already has applications in numerous fields including healthcare, environmental monitoring, and traffic control.

Interest began during a series of presentations by OIT students on WSN.  This led to the formation of a research team to explore the topic further.

"Researching is an essential and beneficial activity that helps students gain a better understanding of what they’ve learned in class,” said Dr. Ching Cheng Lee, Dean of OIT. “We are glad to see students’ enthusiasm and progress."

The OIT research team plans to begin their work by launch simulations for the WSN project. These will include WSN transforming protocol and sensor signal processing that will lead to further practical applications.
