JavaOne a Hit with OIT

Olivet Institute of Technology (OIT) students who attended the JavaOne conference this June at San Francisco’s Moscone Center left inspired by the display of innovation and excellence in generating technology. They were in good company, with over 15,000 attendees throughout the weeklong event.

One of the conference’s most popular highlights was a special hands-on lab that put students to work with technologies like NetBean Platform, Glassfish, JavaFX, and Javascript. Exposition booths where experts in the field introduced advanced technology, such as cloud computing and real-time Java, also were a hit, students said.

OIT encourages student participation in industry conferences and symposia like JavaOne to expose learners to fresh ideas in information technology and aid faculty in the development of cutting edge curricula.
